Biography

The first British shooter to qualify for the final at the World University Games, Mike Bamsey is the youngest male member of the shooting squad for Glasgow 2014 at just 20 years-old.

A Cardiff University history student, Bamsey is a fluent Welsh speaker and won three silver medals for Team GB at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2013.

The man who never wears matching socks became the first junior in Britain to have won the British title four times with the air rifle and he made his World Cup debut at the London 2010 Olympic test event in 2012.

Both of Mike's parents were born in Wales and he was first introduced to shooting through the Scouts when he was just 11 years-old, he was then selected for the National Scout Rifle squad from there.
