Jack started swimming lessons at just three years old as a way of using up the abundance of energy that he had as a child. After trying lots of sports he opted to focus on swimming and joined a club at the age of seven.

Jack first swam for Wales at nine years old at the DSE National Junior Championships in Sheffield and broke an age group record in the 100 freestyle.

The former Morriston Comprehensive School pupil attended the IPC World Games in Montreal 2013, making two finals and placing fifth and sixth. He was given a puppy to congratulate him for qualifying!

In 2014 he competed at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow representing Wales and took the bronze medal in the 200m freestyle S14.
